By Kaye Bailey In many cases conventional dieting wisdom simply doesnt work for gastric bypass weight loss surgery patients. Surgery changes the rules. For example after gastric bypass patients will seldom eat leafy green salad and never in large quantity, its too difficult for the gastric bypass system to handle. So conventional diet wisdom seldom applies to the WLS community. However, some rules can work in concert with the gastric bypass as patients adopt a healthier lifestyle and more rational respect for food. Take a look at what Stephen P. Gullo, PhD, President of the Institute of Health and Weight Sciences in New York City and author of Thin Tastes Better has to say. I believe youll find the counsel he gives his patients works well for WLS patients: 1. Know your behaviors, not just your calories. If you find that youre constantly regaining weight youve lost by abusing the same types of foods, either stop buying them or find replacements for them. 2. Remember that weight loss is about liberation, not deprivation. Its about a change in perspective. Eat fewer calories and cut down on the amount of fat you eat in the spirit of liberating yourself from the discomfort of the pounds that youve been carrying instead of depriving yourself from certain foods. 3. Dont forget that being thin is a life management skill. Its normal to experience setbacks and periods of feeling defeated. But in the future, when you turn 40 or 50 or 60 at a healthy weight, it wont be by accident, because aging well is not an accident. Its the gift that those who care deeply give to themselves. It will be because you planned and honed your skills at weight management. Thanks, Dr. Gullo, for your insight. Quoted from Preventions Ultimate Guide to Womens Health & Wellness 2002, Rodale p. 94. The Healing Power of Forgiveness: 3 Techniques
By Bill Austin People who experience bad health often have major league forgiveness issues in their lives. When we hold negativity in our energy field, inevitably it expresses itself as physical disharmony or bad health. Forgiveness is the major way that humans can release negativity or cleanse it from their energy fields. When we forgive anyone or anything, what happens is that to all extents and purposes it never happened. This is how the world is healed. And when you heal one of your relationships, everyone who is in a similar situation is helped as well. Below are three very powerful techniques I use for myself whenever a forgiveness challenge arises in my life. Forgiveness Technique Number 1. Get into a meditative state of mind (calm, relaxed and peaceful) and think about the person or situation that is bothering you. Ask your soul for a symbol for the relationship or the event. Play with the symbol or image that you receive. If it's dark, add light to it. If it's closed, open it up. Working with things as energy is very powerful for as you transform the symbol, you transform the relationship or event as well. This is one of those techniques that is very effective, but I have no idea how or why this works. You can use this same technique when you want to resolve a problem or when you just want to get in touch with your inner guidance. Forgiveness Technique Number 2. Get into a meditative state of mind and ask your soul to join you. Pretend that you are your soul. Say out loud: "I am one with my soul." Visualize your soul as a shining pillar of light. Invite the soul of the person whom you want to forgive to join your soul. Explain your point of view to the other person's soul, and ask the other person's soul to explain his or her point of view. Please note that your souls get along fine. The forgiveness issue is a personality one. This technique can also be used in other areas. If you're struggling with an illness, visualize it as energy and talk to it. Forgiveness Technique Number 3. Get into a meditative state of mind and think about the person or situation that you want to forgive. Think about how that person or event changed your life. How would your life have been different without that person or experience? What did you learn from that relationship or event? After doing this, you usually will find that there were some benefits to the association. Acknowledge this and thank the other person for that gift. _________________________________________________________________ Bill Austin is a spiritual healer and teacher based in St Petersburg FL. Buckskin Clothing
By Stephen Graham I had never sewed anything in my life but buttons on a shirt. That was even an experience that I did not relish. Doing research on my family tree I became aware of the fact that my great grand parents were listed on the American Indian rolls. The rolls were instituted during the infamous time of the trail of tears. I had always felt that I had indian lineage because my mother looked the part. All of her brothers and sisters had Indian features. The Indian aspect of our heritage was rarely discussed by family members. My mother never discussed her heritage even though she was dark skinned with black hair and high cheek bones. My sister looked Indian. I was dark complected. My dad was Irish. He was fair skinned with light hair. I have always felt a kinship to the Indian race. I became very interested in anything Indian. I went to Indian art shows and inspected indian ware on e-bay. I had purchased a head dress which ended up being too small for my head. I read books and articles on Indian history. I purchased many articles which somehow seemed to quench my thirst for a feeling for the past. I am a large man with a large torso and feet. I had been buying my clothes from a big mans store for years. I had ogled the war and buckskin shirts on e-bay and other sites for months. I had trouble finding indian war shirts in my size. When I came close to finding the right shirt the price tag was out of my price range. The next step? With my poor sewing knowledge I decided to try to make a war shirt by myself. I bought the buckskin and then a sewing machine from Wal- Mart. The sewing machine was not big enough and did not have the power to sew through leather.. I went to e-bay and purchased a sewing machine which was advertised to sew leather. In fact this new sewing machine was cheaper than the used machines that I had been outbid on by more aggressive bidders. I purchased a war shirt pattern from a company that I buy Indian articles from. The pattern was not in my size. I could not find any patterns in my size. I took one of my shirts and traced around it, adding a few inches extra for the hem. I had bought a thread that was too large for the machine and continually experienced bobbin problems. The thread was even too large to go through the needle of the machine easily. I went down to a smaller thread and began to make progress. Buckskin is not an easy material to work with. It is very pliable and has almost a spongy texture to it. Use heavy needles that are meant for sewing leather to do the hand work. Some type of lubricant is needed on the needles to make them go through the leather easier. I used a heavy piece of leather to protect my hands while hand stitching. I also used a pair of pliers to push and pull the needle through the leather. To my amazement I got all of the parts to match. I had even got huge compliments for my sewing ability. It looked as good as any thing that I could have purchased. I next looked at ways to decorate my shirt besides the usual fringe. I decided on horsehair, beadwork and medallions. I now had an expensive war shirt at a price that I could afford and in a size that would fit me. I needed pants to go with the shirt. I sent off and ordered a pattern for leggings and a breechclout. The pattern worked. The leggings and breechclout were relatively easy to put together. I now have buckskins that will compare to almost any other. I saved money. I learned a new skill and got a feel for what it must have been like for the indians of old to produce their clothing. I am still searching for ways of recreating the Indian of the past. Yesterday I walked in the living room with a full drape red fox hat on my head. My wife does understand. What Do Accountants And Doctors Have In Common?
By James NK Khoo Freshly qualified accounting graduates when asked by the interviewer "Are there any questions you want to ask?" usually respond with "What are my duties and responsibilities" Be careful. Some interviewers intentionally do not mention anything about duties and responsibilities to test the reaction of the candidates. Those less confident will show on the face. I usually respond to the candidate "You're lucky I'm the interviewer and I'm accountant by training. So I can tell you what are the duties and responsibilities of an Accountant... but what if I'm the boss. I do not know anything about accounting. A friend I know just asked me to get an Accountant as my business is growing. Now should'nt you tell me what the Accountant is supposed to do. Isn't it a profession? Didn't they teach you stuff like that in business school. Imagine if our company is hiring an in-house doctor and the candidate asks "What is a doctor suppose to do?". Another favourite question by candidates to the interviewer "Are your accounts uptodate?" I answer swiftly "No. They are quite backlogged and damn messy". And watch the reaction on the candidate's face. Some show disinterest and some insecure. And then I add "if our accounts are so beautiful and uptodate we don't need an Accountant do we?" Candidates should just learn to listen carefully and spot any potential problems given away by the interviewer during the interview. If there are, phrase your question carefully about the problem spotted and ask this during the open session. Do not think about problems you may have heard, read about or whatever from somewhere and ask the interviewer. Just remember, after two or three years you maybe the one sitting on the other end. Think about what you like in a candidate during an interview. Natural Eye Care - You'll Never Guess How It Can Help You Pick Up Women Or Men
By Dale Pindling So how can natural eye care exercises help you pick up women? focus in for a minute. Does anybody remember the 90's tv show called Family Matters? Well, even if you do not I'll fill you in a little. The star of Family Matters was a teenager named Steve Urkel. Steve was characteristically known by his tight pants, clumsiness, suspenders, thick glasses, squeaky voice and intelligence. Now this character lived next door to a family of five and he was in love with their teenage daughter Laura. For maybe 100 or more episodes Steve tried everything he could to get the affection of Laura, but for 100 or more episodes Laura just did not like him. But wait.... One episode (after 100), in his perpetual quest to make Laura fall in love with him, Steve, the intelligent Steve invented a machine that would make him cool. All Steve had to do was jump into this machine for a couple of minutes and a miracle would happen. Steve would trade his tight pants, suspenders, clumsiness, thick glasses and squeaky voice for loose pants, a nice shirt, smoothness, NO GLASSES, a deep voice and he kept his intelligence. Also his name was no longer Steve, it was Stephon. Well guess what happened when Laura laid her eyes upon Stephon for the first time?
She was overwhelmed, she was head over heels, she was in love and Steve was in love with her. Now, to my displeasure, Stephon did go back to Steve and suffered the loss of Laura again but the situation is a perfect life example. Loose the glasses and you will become more attractive to the opposite sex. Say you cannot see without the glasses? Well, natural eye care exercises will help you see without the glasses... Stephon. Car Magnets
By Marcus Peterson Car magnets are an effective way to achieve two objectives. They can be used to promote social causes. On the other hand, they can also be used to declare personal affiliations. In the United States, car magnets are used as fund raising materials to fund social causes. Because of the visibility of car magnets, they can be an effective means to inform people of on-going social activities. Examples of such causes are peace promotion and prevention of diseases. Aside from these, car magnets are also used to fight for political beliefs such as the time when civilian Americans used them to get American troops deployed to foreign countries to be sent back home. Car magnets come in different sizes, shapes, and colors. There are ribbon-shaped magnets that are usually associated with causes related to the prevention of diseases, such as HIV. Other designs include triangles and flags. These materials can easily be placed on any metallic part of the vehicle. Aside from this, car magnets are also used to declare personal favorites or affiliations. For instance, car magnets that are designed like balls are used to promote certain basketball or baseball sports teams. Some civic or educational organizations also use car magnets to signify membership. Car magnets can also be used on other objects. They are not exclusively made for cars. They can also be placed on trucks, bikes or even refrigerators. Because they can easily be removed, they can also be comfortably placed on any metallic material. Because car magnets are cheap, they make a perfect means to raise funds. People can easily be enticed to buy car magnets especially when they are for a good cause. Besides, because of the design of car magnets, they can also accentuate the look of the car. Their magnetic properties do not at all pose any danger to the physical appearance of the car. Meanwhile, organizations that plan to use car magnets for fund raising can also take advantage of big discounts by buying magnets in wholesale quantities. This way, they can easily sell the products and earn more to fund the causes they are pushing or fighting for. Education Loans In India
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Max_Bellamy]Max Bellamy India is a developing country and is forging ahead to create a definite niche in the global economy. Education is an important factor for the development of any country. India is not far behind in an attempt to provide education to every child by granting education loans to students. All banks in India provide education loans to students for studies in India, as well as abroad. Apart from banks, there are a number of charitable institutions and other private funding associations in India that provide education loans to students. There are a large number of Indian students who prefer to go abroad for their post-graduation studies. The loans prove to be a boon, mainly to the students whose education and stay abroad would be very costly. Some private banks grant education loans and also cover the expenses of lodging and travel. Most private banks in India offer flexible options related to education loans. Certain private banks offer very low interest rates and give various allied benefits to the borrowers, by opening a savings account for them or providing them with debit cards. Some banks also provide customized education loans, created for specific requirements. They grant secured as well as unsecured loans. Secured loans can be repaid in seven years by holding residential properties or shares as security. The unsecured loans can be repaid in four years. Various banks offer exclusive schemes on educational loans to their customers, of six months or more. The education loans in India are mostly granted to the parents of the students, unless or until the students are eligible, above 18 years of age. Most nationalized and private banks providing education loans, take the authorization of the college or university into consideration. They do not grant loans to students who are not from approved educational institutions. Finding a Payday Loan
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Peter_Sissons]Peter Sissons When deciding on loans, make sure to do plenty of research. It is important to compare all the possible offers you have to choose from. Many times a payday cash advance from a loan agency is often one of the best choices as far as getting a low APR and finance charges. One aspect of payday loans that makes them appeal to almost anyone is that even if you have bad credit or no credit almost all companies that offer payday loans will still offer you a payday loan no fax, meaning they will give you the loan without conducting a credit check. This makes payday loans appealing because almost every other type of loan involved a credit check to make sure the person is free of delinquent accounts in the past. Payday loans can be acquired by anyone, even those with a bad credit history. However, keep in mind that payday loans are meant to be paid back within a short period of time. The idea of a payday cash advance is that you receive a payday advance prior to receiving your pay check. Once you have received your next pay check you are expected to pay back your loan. The amount of money you can receive as a payday cash advance depends on how much money you make. If you have a high income you have a greater chance of being allotted a higher payday loan. The amount of your payday loan is completely dependent on your income because that is what will determine whether or not you will be able to pay back your loan and in what amount of time. Since payday loans are meant to be paid back within a short amount of time, it is important to companies that they do not lend an employee more money than the person will be able to pay by their next payday. To obtain a payday loan in most cases, all you have to do is complete an application form. The form will ask for basic information about you as well as information about your job and income since the loan amount will be based upon that information. Some people choose to ask for a certain amount of money when applying for their loan but others allow the loan company to decide how much money will be offered to you. So if you are in need of fast cash before your next payday, look no further than a payday cash advance. Not only will you be able to pay your bills and take care of expenses quicker, you will be able to do so with low interest rates and a convenient payback time that keeps you debt free. By Julie Hunt Here are 10 personal little home spa tips that will make you look and feel like a million bucks! Squeeze in a few extra minutes to your every day self care time and youll see how easily these step by step pampering recommendations will turn even the toughest days around. Or if you can negotiate a few minutes here and there from your day to get even more timeby all means do it! Your family, friends and co-workers will meet a much happier, more chipper, fantastically refreshed you! In Preparation: First things, first. No shopping, buying or leaving the house. Scour the house for a few fun spa essentials and make a decadent Home Spa Day just with what you have tucked away!
Why put off what you could be doing right now?! I suppose if you are out and about and feel so inclined to pick up special bath salts, moisturizers or essential oils so be it. I admire your level of commitment! - Grab your robe and slippers - Find a soothing CD that you absolutely love - Scented candle - A washcloth, loofah, bath brush or a new scrubbie back there in the drawers you forgot about - Fluffy cotton towel - Bath salts or essential aromatic oils (if you have them) - Your cleansers, toners and moisturizers - Coarse sea salt - Plenty of chilled spring water (with a splash of lime or lemon) in the fanciest glass you can find - Steep a cup of green tea Let go of your day your obligations responsibilities stress and strain. Toss out the barrage of thoughts streaming through your mind (even if its just for a moment). Trust me... theyll still be around later for you to poke at, ponder or peruse. Try to relax. Take yourself on a far away vacation in your head, tell yourself a Once Upon A Time story, remind yourself what a princess you are and remember how essential these precious moments are to your happiness and sanity! Welcome To Your At Home Spa Vacation! 1. Take it easy and slow down your breath, your thoughts and your movements. Put on your favorite CD and start prepping a very simple shower or bath in a wonderfully slow, deliberate and unhurried way. Take time to watch the candle burn, smell the fragrance, feel the soft robe or towels, look at the sparkling drops of water and run your hands through it take in the joyful process of an every day activity that we just fly through without a second thought! 2. Use essential oils. Not only do they smell great, but they are extremely good for your skin. The rule to applying essential oils is to never apply them directly on your face or skin. Just add about five drops to a bowl of warm water. Soak a washcloth in the water and then apply to your face and neck as a compress for five minutes. Repeat three times. Gently towel dry and finish yourself off with an anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory facial splash. If you have a choice of essential oils to choose from, select one that suits your mood and purpose. If you are desparking the stress level this holiday, choose soothing oils (like lavender, chamomile, jasmine, sandalwood and ylang-ylang). Good revitalizing and energizing oils when you need them are peppermint, eucalyptus, rosemary, basil and juniper. The aroma can also provide psychological and physical benefits too!
Essential oils can help with physical conditions, rejuvenate the skin, eliminate waste, alleviate stress, enhance your mood, restore vitality and facilitate the regeneration of new, healthy cells. 3. Basic Body Scrub and Cleansing If you decided you only have time for an indulgent, relaxing shower start with a basic body scrub and cleansing. I found this fabulous new product called Spongeables (www.spongeables.com). Its a soap and a sponge all in one. It lasts for a full month of frothy fragrant showering. My favorite fragrance is fresh lavender and they have them fragrance free too if thats more your style. Whatever sponge, cloth or brush you decide on scrub mindfully and only gently brush your skin. Gentle circular motions will increase your circulation and eliminate toxins and excess water. Another in home spa trick is to mix an ounce of ground sea salt with 10 or so drops of your favorite essential oil. Add water and make a paste so it spreads easily. Apply it to your entire body and slough off the dead skin with big circular strokes. This salt scrub will exfoliate dead skin cells, cleanse the pores and help your body get rid of any toxins. 4. Draw a bath. Add 5 to 10 drops of an essential oil to bath salts. Grab an extra pillow, put a kitchen trash bag over it to keep it dry and then put a pillow case over that. You just bought yourself 10 extra comfy minutes in the bath tub. You might as well take a book too! Follow it with a warm shower and a dry yourself off with a fluffy cotton towel. If someone in the house really loves you get them to toss it in the dryer for 5 minutes and greet you with fluffy warmth. If you have a body toning lotion handy, apply to your body (not your face) for additional firming and toning so youll look even better in that little black dress. 5. Be nice to yourself. These are your precious rejuvenating moments. Take your time. Pamper yourself and try not to get caught up in the have-tos and the should-dos. Dont be in a rush. Not only will you lose some of the benefits of this quality time to refresh and relax, you may start sloughing off and using rough, damaging strokes. 6. Hurrying has its risks. Without slow, mindful, attentive movements, you could cause inflammation and jeopardize that fresh, healthy, glowing complexion that will make you a bright shining super star. You can actually accelerate the aging process by being too rough! Now theres a good enough reason in and of itself to slow down. 7. Care for your hair. It is taking a beating in these winter elements. Add ounce of lavender to sixteen ounces of shampoo. Or for oily hair, add ounce of lemongrass or rosemary to 16 ounces of shampoo. Essential oils can make invigorating scalp massages. Rosemary is awesome! If you decide not to use the oils, make sure you at least give yourself a long, sudsy scalp massage. Close your eyes, lay your head back and drift for a moment. 8. Replenish lost moisture to your skin and hair this winter by taking two tablespoons of organic flaxseed oil twice a day. Youll get rid of the itchies and combat wrinkles and sagging skin. 9. Treat your fabulous face. All the treatments above were just for your bod. Your face is special and delicate. The skin on your face is thinner and more fragile than your body. Treat your face with extreme care and gentleness. Even though its cold avoid extremely hot water, harsh soaps or any drying cleansers. Grab a new wash cloth or small sea sponge, add a few drops of your favorite cleanser (preferably an anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory liquid cleanser) and then rinse thoroughly with warm water. Apply face firming treatment then put an ice cube inside of a small plastic bag and gently rub over the face and eye area for several minutes to tone and plump up the skin. 10. Rejuvenate from the inside Drink 8 to10 glasses of water every day.
Eat lots of whole foods, green vegetables, fresh fruits, grains, nuts and lean protein to reduce inflammation, replenish moisture and bring back a youthful glow. Take 3 full, deep breaths from your abdomen (keep your shoulders still) to complete your simple happy essential home spa experience. The benefits and joy you experience during your at home spa day
will be more colored by your desire and your intentions than any fancy, expensive products you can buy. Be mindful, set your intentions and gradually transition in to or out of your work day always cherishing these simple, sacred rejuvenating moments. www.shesite.com Julie Hunt is a female icon and founder of SHE, the foremost inspiration and personal development resource for women who want to live brilliant, happy, successful lives.
Get Rid Of Shyness And Get Her Into Bed
By Chris Walker Shyness is a major problem that many men refuse to acknowledge I receive dozens of emails everyday and virtually all of the men mention that they have problems dealing with shyness and fear of rejection. Shyness is a major issue when it comes to dating. Being shy inhibits you and prevents you from doing all the things you would like to do in life (not just dating). What were going to do is talk about how you can overcome shyness and have a great dating/sex life a great life in general. So the question is, is your shyness constantly preventing you from being with gorgeous women? Are you continuously letting countless opportunities pass you by? Are you allowing the woman youre crazy about to leave the bar with someone else? If so, pay close attention. Overcoming shyness starts with self belief You could not keep your eyes off of her because you thought she was smoking hot, but you did nothing about it. Many men are intimidated by beauty. But no man should be intimidated to the point where he wont approach a woman that he likes. Ask yourself this question before you approach any woman: Whats the worse that can happen? If she rejects you big deal. Just move on to the next chick. When a guy second-guesses himself its because he lacks confidence and has no self-belief. You must find ways to gradually build your confidence. A great way to overcome shyness and slowly build confidence is to talk to strangers. If you feel intimidated by beautiful women you must take small steps towards getting over your shyness. For starters, approaching strangers, who are less intimidating than beautiful women, is a great way to get the ball rolling. The next time you go out, start a little conversation with someone anyone. It doesnt have to be a long, extended conversation. For example, when you see an approachable person walking in your direction just say, Excuse me. How are you doing? Do you have the time? I found this to work amazingly well. You can also ask someone for directionseven if you dont really need it. The point is you are building up your confidence by approaching complete strangers. The more you do this the more your confidence will build to new heights. Your shyness will be totally diminished once you are comfortable talking to strangers Drinking and smoking cant rid you of your shyness Drinking and taking drugs cant change you or rid you of your shyness. Dont believe the hype. Yeah, once you get a little buzz, you will be a bit loosened up and not be as shy and nervous as you normally would. But what happens after you are sober again? What happens when youre not high anymore? Back to square one. Wrapping things up You must first realize that you have a problem. If you are reading this, congratulations, you already have the hardest part out of the way. Most people cower when its time to face their fears (in this case, shyness) therefore, living an unfulfilled what could have been lifestyle. This will not be you. You will do everything you have always wanted to do. Including having steamy sex with all the beautiful women you could have hoped for. Learn how to seduce women with exclusive secrets tips and strategies that few men use. Gain the upper hand and get any woman you desire with ease. Seducing women is something that has to be learned and I show you exactly how. Find A Job In A Fast Growing Field Using Labor Market Information For Your State
By Chuck Huckaby The question confronting most people who want to find a job is "what's a good paying job with growth potential?" At one time, the Conestoga wagon building trade boomed as people joined the wagon trains heading west. Today, the boom is long gone and those wanting to find a job with a future will most likely wish to stay away from such a field. So how can you find a job that will reasonably be expected to thrive in the future either in your home state or the state in which you choose to reside? One key is through using Labor Market Information to research potential jobs as you create a long term plan to find the job you feel is ideal for your skills and interests. Your first step to find a job with potential is to use the free service available at "America's Career InfoNet" a website sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor. To find a job with growth potential in your state, visit this state by state database. (This opens in a new window so you will not lose the instructions on how to find a job with potential on this page when you click the link!) After you've searched for a particular state - we'll use Alabama as an example - here's what you'll find... 1) Basic demographic information under these headings: (Again, these are for Alabama.) Demographic Information: 2001 Population 4,468,900 2002 Labor Force 2,102,800 2002 Unemployment Rate 5.9% 2002 Median Household Income $37,600 2001 Per Capita Income $24,500 You'll be able to see how the state ranks nationally and you'll be able to check unemployment rates by county just to know what you're up against in your job search for a particular county! 2) The next step to find a job in a growing occupation is to choose the kind of growth occupation you have in mind. Your options will be... Fastest growing occupations Occupations with the most openings Occupations with the largest employment Occupations with declining employment Highest paying occupations At this point in your career search you'll also be asked to choose the level of education you're willing to achieve to enhance your income. The options listed are... Overall Requiring only work experience or on-the-job training Requiring post-secondary training or an associate's degree Requiring a bachelor's degree or higher Click the appropriate button to make your selections and then you can hit "search" to find a job with growth potential. In this case we'll select "Fastest growth" and "overall" educational requirements. When you search to find a job with these criteria, you'll receive results based on the fastest growth in sheer number of jobs and you'll receive listings that may require no education beyond high school up to jobs requiring a two year community college or vocational school training program or 4 year bachelor's degree. What do you see when you do the job information search? You see the first 25 of (for Alabama) 513 fastest growing jobs as determined by the number of jobs that will be available between 2000 and 2010. As might be expected the job with the highest growth prospects for Alabama is computer software engineering and applications. By clicking on the job itself you find the "Occupation Report" for that state. You'll learn a wealth of information about this particular job and be able to watch an online job video showing you just what a particular job involves. Since you want to find a job with good income potential, you'll see - on average - the kind of money people in this job make in the particular state and nationwide based on government labor market information. Now let's try to find a job that's in the "Highest Paying" category but only requiring a 2 year training program at the most. What job's come up? Hint: They'll be listed by the highest pay expressed (when possible) as an HOURLY wage and then an ANNUAL WAGE for the job you find in Hourly/Annual format. For Alabama (the answer may vary for your state) the Top 10 are: 1 Commercial Pilots N/A /$59,100 2 Computer Specialists, All Other $24.52/$51,000 3 Electrical and Electronics Repairers, Powerhouse, Substation, and Relay $23.59/$49,100 4 Radiation Therapists $22.67/$47,200 5 Electrical and Electronics Drafters $22.02/$45,800 6 Aerospace Engineering and Operations Technicians $21.98/$45,700 7 Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technicians $21.71/$45,200 8 Appraisers and Assessors of Real Estate $21.16/$44,000 9 Ship Engineers $21.13/$44,000 10 Telecommunications Equipment Installers and Repairers, Except Line Installers $20.79/$43,200 Again, you can click on the job titles you find and go directly to an occupational report. By using Labor Market Information, you can find a job with high growth potential, high wages, and usually a training requirement that involves only 2 years of training or less beyond high school. Remember, you do not necessarily need a traditional 4 year degree to find a job with high growth potential. You DO need specific skills however not more "underwater basket weaving courses" at college that are unrelated to a specific field. 4 year degrees are nice and even graduate degrees are important to find a job in some fields. But increasingly, 2 year specialized programs are dominating the field as far as improving wages. Qi Gong Body Mind Breath Meditation Exercise Overview and Research
By Spence Pentland Today Qigong is most often referred to as any set of breathing and Qi circulation techniques that are capable of improving health, preventing illness, and strengthening the body. Qigong is slow meditative exercise for the body, the breath, and the mind. Qi is the vital force behind everything, everything is Qi at differing densities; quoting Einstein, matter = energy times the speed of light squared. Gong is cultivation, effect, attainment. Qigong can be translated as cultivation of vital force. It regulates the balance of Yin Yang energy returning the body to a balanced, normal physiological state. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the human body is treated as an integral system of interrelated networks with different physiological functions. This integral system uses the energy pathways to link the organs and other human systems into a unified whole, making the communication and interaction between parts of the body possible. The energy that flows in the energy pathways is called Qi. It extends internally to the organs and externally throughout the body, completing and interrelated system of networks. Traditional Chinese Medical Qigong is a compilation of effective preventative, healing, and strengthening exercises derived from a long history of the Chinese peoples experience with nature and living in harmony with it. Qigong is studied not merely for the health and strength of the body, but as an attempt to understand human nature and its interactions with the environment and the universe as a whole. Realizing that humans are part of nature, any attempt to understand human physiology inevitably involves the study of wholism. From commoners to scientists, martial artists to government officials. Qigong studies span the masses of the Chinese population. Supporting Research into the Health Benefits of Qigong Qi Gong is a practice which combines relaxing movement, breathing and visualization. It is a tool to make Qi circulate in order to preserve one's health, cure diseases and prolong life. The consistent practice has been shown to foster development of a profound inner calmness and non-reactivity of the mind, allowing individuals to face, and even embrace, all aspects of daily life, regardless of circumstances. Science has proven the complementary healing effects of Qigong in medical science. Qigong can relieve chronic pain (including low back (6)), reduce tension, increase activities of our immune system (even at the genetic level (2)), improve heart health, mediates neuroendocrine responses (10), improve eyesight, and influence blood flow & biochemistry (1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 10). There is also proof of its positive effects on depression (4), and stabilization of the autonomic nervous system and the emotional state (5). It induces a state of relaxation via the induction of alpha brain waves and the release of serotonin (8). Jang & Lee randomized study put forth Qigong as an effective complementary therapy for managing the symptoms of PMS (9). It has also been concluded that visualization was an effective intervention for long-term smoking cessation and abstinence in adult smokers (3). The Division for Research and Education in Complementary and Integrative Medical Therapies, Harvard Medical School, study of the Use of mind-body medical therapies stated that much opportunity exists to increase use of mind-body therapies for indications with demonstrated efficacy (11). The cultivation or preservation of ones health through the complimentary practice of Qigong plays an integral part in any persons path to wellness and the accomplishment of their goals.
